M_o_R® Foundation Practice Exam
The M_o_R® Foundation certification verifies that a candidate possesses the necessary knowledge and comprehension to effectively participate in identifying, evaluating, and managing risks from various organizational viewpoints. This understanding encompasses proficiency in the four elements of the M_o_R framework and their role in enhancing corporate governance. Moreover, the Foundation qualification serves as a prerequisite for obtaining the Practitioner qualification.
Who should take the exam?
The M_o_R Foundation certification is applicable to both organizations and individuals who recognize the importance of adopting a structured methodology for identifying, evaluating, and managing risks across strategic, programmatic, project, and operational levels. The Foundation qualification targets:
- Business Change Managers
- Programme and Project Managers
- Risk Managers
- Business, Programme, and Project Support staff and managers
- Operational staff and managers
- Personnel and Managers from diverse fields, especially those involved in establishing standards and/or aligning them with MoP portfolio management, MSP programme management, and PRINCE2 project management.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in applying and customizing M_o_R within an organizational setting that supports M_o_R. Specifically, candidates should be able to:
- Comprehend the interconnections among the four components of the M_o_R framework.
- Apply the principles, methodology, processes, and methodologies effectively.
- Evaluate and propose enhancements to integrate the M_o_R framework.
- Develop and evaluate various documents within the M_o_R framework.

Topic 1: Introduction and Glossary (IG)
- Know facts, terms and concepts relating to M_o_R
- Know facts, terms and concepts relating to the M_o_R approach, perspectives and the actions needed for effective risk management implementation.
- Be able to apply the M_o_R framework when implementing risk management
throughout an organization or updating the current risk management practices
for a given scenario.
Topic 2: M_o_R Principles (PI)
- Know the facts, terms and concepts relating to the M_o_R principles.
- Understand how the M_o_R principles are used and the main mechanisms (e.g.
appetite, capacity, tolerance, EWI, KPI, etc.) that support them.
Topic 3: M_o_R Approach (AP)
- Know the facts, terms and concepts relating to the M_o_R approach
- Understand the contents of the nine M_o_R approach documents, how they relate to the principles and how they are applied throughout the M_o_R framework.
Topic 4: M_o_R Processes (PR)
- Know the facts, terms and concepts of the M_o_R process.
- Understand how the M_o_R process is used to identify, assess and control risk.
Topic 5: Embedding and reviewing (ER)
- Know the facts, terms and concepts relating to Embedding and reviewing of risk management into the culture of an organization.
- Be able to apply and tailor the methods for Embedding and reviewing risk
management when implementing or updating risk management for a given
scenario.
Topic 6: Perspectives (PE)
- Know the facts, terms and concepts of the M_o_R perspectives
- Understand how the M_o_R perspectives are used
Topic 7: Common Techniques (CT)
- Be able to apply and tailor the M_o_R framework to organizational perspectives when implementing or updating risk management for a given scenario.
- Be able to identify, analyse and distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate application of the M_o_R principles at each perspective for a given scenario
- Know the facts, terms and concepts of the M_o_R techniques.
