Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) certification is best suited for HR professionals with strategic and policy-making expertise. This credential is created for individuals in leadership roles who are tasked with designing rather than executing HR policies in the U.S. SPHR professionals typically have responsibility for setting HR department objectives, strategizing and implementing business plans and technology, all while comprehending the broader HR requirements of the organization.
Who should take the exam?
To qualify for the SPHR certification, candidates must meet one of the following criteria based on their education and/or experience:
- A Master’s degree or higher and have a minimum of four years of experience in a professional-level HR position.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of five years of experience in a professional-level HR position.
- Alternatively, have at least seven years of experience in a professional-level HR position.
