LPIC-2 represents the second tier within the Linux Professional Institute's (LPI) multi-level professional certification program. This certification acknowledges the candidate's capability to administer mixed networks of small to medium sizes.

Who should take the exam?

To achieve LPIC-2 certification, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
  • Performing advanced system administration tasks, encompassing Linux kernel management, system startup procedures, and routine maintenance.
  • Executing advanced management of block storage and file systems, alongside advanced networking, authentication, and system security tasks, including firewall and VPN management.
  • Installing and configuring essential network services, such as DHCP, DNS, SSH, web servers, and file servers utilizing FTP, NFS, and Samba, as well as email delivery setups.
